Is this really me?

"I have to say I like his wife, she has class, and spunk, she can cuss someone out and still hold her little pinky up as she is doing it."
I love you, too Rex!

Who says I don't lead an exciting life?

Midnight couponing in Azle, TX with my hubby netted:

12, 3-liter bottles of water for $8.00
8, bottles of Hershey's chocolate syrup $8.00

This stockpile will cause multiple Stella Mays' Yummy Chocolate Cakes with Fudgey Chocolate Icing to be created.

As for the water, Greg announces, "we live in a well hydrated house".

Today I was in such an Advil fog

(large doses for cramps) that not once but twice, did I reach for a headband to pull my hair back and instead grabbed a bra to put in my hair. Yes, I said b-r-a!

Being a girl sucks MOST of the time.

I am done Christmas shopping

I didn't realize it until my silly brother pointed it out to me. (I won't spoil it for everyone but you will know it when it arrives.)

Hint: I will be putting my new couponing craze to use this holiday season!

You know that you have a great brother when...

it is a rare occassion that you talk and even more rare that you see each other and then he calls to check on you because he knows you are hurting. I feel a deep connection with my brother that surfaces especially in the rare occasions that we just need to talk or need someone to listen. Thank you Bubbie it means the WORLD to know that you are there for me.

Coupon shopping this weekend...$50.94

I got 8 loaves of Sara Lee bread for $0.00
12 jars of Skippy peanut butter for $2.00
3 Ban deodorants for $1.50
2 new Bic Soleil razors and 2 4-pks of blade refills for $7.96
8 bottles of All laundry detergent for $16.00
4 boxes of Puffs tissue for $2.52
4 cans of Lysol spray for $4.96
8 boxes of Cheerios for $12.00
8 bottles of Dove shampoo/conditioner $4.00

Walgreen's rocks...

I bought 12 jars of peanut butter for $2.00. See if you can follow me on this one.

Walgreens was selling 3/$5 and if you bought 6 jars you would receive a $4 coupon to use on your next visit, I had six coupons for $1/2. I bougt six jars, which comes to $10; I got $3 off by using 3 of the $1/2 coupons and threw in a $2 off bonus I received from a previous purchase. That leaves a balance of $5. If you also remember I got a $4 bonus for making the purchase, that means I paid $1 for six jars of peanut butter.

I did this twice! 12 jars for $2

More Dr. Suess...

Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened.

We appreciate your lovely words

Thanks so much for all of the thoughtful words concerning the loss of our puppy Camille. Greg and I are doing okay. The emotions seem to come in waves and I suspect that time is the only thing that will help, but for now it is so strange. Camille has been a part of Greg and my life together, from the beginning. It is going to be an adjustment just simply not having her here with us.

I have not answered my phone but see that you have been calling. I will try to start returning the calls in the next few days.

Much love,
Greg & Christine

She is gone

This morning at 4:40 I lost my girl Camille. She was a good friend to me for thirteen years. She always loved me, she was always excited to see me. At times she seemed a little over excited; I say that just because I've never considered myself all that special. I travel often and on every trip I can say I always wondered what she was doing and if she was missing me. She was my brat, I created that trait in her and I wouldn't trade it for anything.

She brought experiences I can say I don't think alot of dog owners have. I learned that there are 'doggie dermatologists'. Of course they are in Dallas, only the biggest and fanciest for a dog specialist. With her latest illness she was headed for the internist (another specialist). Only the best for my girl, I wouldn't have it any other way.

She would chase after a ball until you thought your arm would fall off. Of course I always gave up after I had enough of the slobber covered ball.

Camille loved the farm. She liked chasing rabbits and skunks. She would often try to play with the calfs in the pasture. The mother cows were not so sure about this and I have to say I am very surprised that she was never injured.

Greg teases me that I can never call any animal by its given name. Here are some of her aliases: Camilla Barker BowWow, Camilly, Milly, Camilla girl, Pooka dog, Millie Belle. I am sure that there are many others but these were my favorites. She answered to 'kitty-kitty' when called by my brother Shawn.

Greg and I buried her this morning before the sun was up, in typical Keeter, TX fashion. We donned our best tshirts and shorts. I held the flashlight and the hose (we use the hose to soften the dirt in these parts).

Qs, Kupins, Coupons

I have a new hobby. There was recently a story in the local paper about a lady that has five kids and four animals and she only spends $70.00 a week on groceries. I went to a free class that she gave last week and learned the basics.

Never buy anything that isn't on sale and only do it with coupons and multiple ones if you have them available. My first endeavor was last weekend and at first I was a little intimidated.

Today I made five purchases of which two came out to $0.00. I spent $24.29 and my coupons for the day totaled $162.67. Oh yeah, and I got a $4.00 coupon off my next purchase at CVS.

My free items were: 3 electronic diabetic glucose testers, 4 bottles of Cover Girl foundation, 2 Cover Girl blushes, 2 Cover Girl mineral powders and I got a free toothbrush.

I actually got paid $.02 to take two tubes of Colgate toothpaste from CVS.

I bought 3 bottles of Aleve LiquiGels for $2.49 each.

I bought 4 bottles of Dawn dish soap for $.38 each.

I bought 8 boxes of Rice Krispie treats for $1.29 each.

My BEST girl

My dog has been very sick for the last two weeks and was doing better this week. Then yesterday she stopped eating again and well we'll just say if she was eating it wouldn't stay down. Any consumed items find their way out in an assortment of ways...if you know what I mean.

Back to the vet we went. I had to leave her this morning because the vet was in surgery. He would look at her and get back with me.

I picked Camille up this afternoon and the doctor had given her two shots. He really doesn't know what else to do for her. She apparently has doggie hepatitis. Her liver isn't working properly and I am not able to give her the medicine she usually takes for her back pain.

The vet says that she may or may not get better and then we would have a decision to make that I really don't want to be faced with.

Today was OUR day

Today was my last Friday off for the summer. Monday I go back to a five day work week. I planned on spending the day with my husband. Of course we had things to do. The big thing for the day was getting his eyes checked and new glasses.

Greg was such a trooper at the eye doctor he even got his eyes dilated. Good news...his vision is improving. That is interesting, being that last year he needed bifocals and you would have thought he celebrated his 80th birthday.

After the exam we went to LensCrafters next door. We experienced a rare extreme in customer service these days. I cannot praise Cindy enough, she was a tremendous help and her efforts are deeply appreciated!
